The most common problem of linux users mainly ubuntu users, is that, the repositories where it’s very useful for entertaiment or development. But dont wory guys, in this simple tutorial i will guide you how to get the package link with complete dependencies. Before we begin, note that i use linux mint 6.0. so please confirm yours. ok lets start:-
And now just open the synaptic package manager.(you can find it on start->administration->synaptic).
a). in sypnatic manager click on the “status” button placed at left side-bottom.
b). the click on “all” at the left side-top option.
c). then search the package that you want to install. it will list all related packages.
d). then click on the package, and mark it for installation. if it have dependencies it will prompt you to include it
otherwise don’t do anything.
e). after you “mark” it, go to edit option and generate package script and save it to any folder.
f). open the code and remove all wget-deb words. and save it all in text format (*.txt)
g). Now u have the package link that direct to .deb package.
h). then go to cyber cafe or any place that have internet connection and download it using download manager.
Thats it guys. It would be useful for beginner all out there. if you have problem related to this post just put it in the comment.
